9th Annual Art in the Round
Washington County Courthouse Rotunda. Sponsored by WOMEN of Southwestern PA, Inc. More than 50 well-known, local Western PA artists display and sell original art. Wine tasting, cheeses, Chinese auction, desserts and jazz entertainment. Featured artist – Dino Guarino, well-known local sports artist. Brenda Waters from KDKA is honorary chairperson. W&J Student Theatre Company: Complete History of America (Unabridged)
Olin Fine Arts Center, W&J College. It may not get all its facts straight, but who cares, it’s funny! The performance is a fast-paced sequence of vaudeville sketches loaded with puns, parodies, and political incorrectness. Free. 7:30 p.m. 724-223-OLIN.

Art Sale
A Big Bargain Art Sale is underway at the Peters Township Public Library and will be available for viewing and purchase until March 1. The price of all the art work is reduced by 25% to 50%. Eight members of the McMurray Art League are showing over 20 pieces in watercolor, watercolor and ink, photography, acrylic, pastel, oil, and prints. Note cards by Sandy Conley are also available. A portion of each sale benefits the library.

Dinner Auction Event
Hillcrest Christian Academy, a Pennsylvania non-profit organization, will host its fourth Dinner Auction Event at the Hilton Garden Inn Southpointe at 6:00 p.m. Great prizes will be given away at silent and live auctions. Proceeds will benefit the Hillcrest Expansion Project.

March 31
Easter Bunny Hop
Have fun decorating your Easter Bag while singing along with your favorite songs at this township-organized event. Visit with the Easter Bunny and gather some eggs from the Bunny’s Easter basket. More information available in the spring. Time: 10 a.m. – 1 p.m.
Fee: $2 per child

April 2, 16, and 23
Creative Candle-Making
Learn the basic fundamentals of making candles while creating a great container in this township-organized class. Personalize your candle from a selection of colors and scents. Make something that you will be able to take home and enjoy or give as a gift to someone special. Ages: 18 and up. Time: 7 p.m. Fee: $15 per class for residents, $20 for non-residents. Taste of the Township
An evening of food, music, dancing, unique auction items and a cash bar is slated for this annual event at Valley Brook Country Club. Ticket information forthcoming. Proceeds benefit the Peters Township Public Library and the Community Endowment for Peters Township. Time: 7:30 p.m. to midnight, For more information, call 724-941-9430

June 2
Giant Oaks Garden Club Plant Sale
This annual event, held at the library is one of many fundraisers the club conducts as a means to raise money to support many local projects and community organizations, including the library. All the plants on sale are grown by club members. Plan on finding healthy plants at very reasonable prices. Time: 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.

June 8
2007 Community Day Booth Registration
Vendors interested in reserving a booth for this year’s community day should contact the township Parks and Recreation Department. Deadline for registration is June 8. The township is also accepting donations for the event. Donations received by May 18, 2007 will be acknowledged in the event’s publicity. The township is also looking for people interested in joining the Community Day planning committee. Contact the Parks & Recreation Department at 724-942-5000 to get involved or for more information
