When William Shakespeare wrote that “All the World’s a Stage,” he could not have been more intuitive in penning this aphorism. Borrowing the same thought from the genius, it could be said to form the basis of our own modest dramatic efforts.

Our cover story this issue presents this year’s Peters Township High School play, “Shenandoah.” Touching on the rawest nerve in our country’s history, “Shenandoah” offers a glimpse into the tragic currents of love, duty, honor and hatred that tore this country apart almost 150 years ago.

Peters Township HS players took the stage to reenact this drama knowing they would attract a full house of demanding patrons. The entire audience sat transfixed as the play unfolded. Year after year, the Peters Township HS drama group chooses the most difficult theatrical presentations to stage precisely because of the high standards Peters sets for its student thespians.

In our own modest way, Peters Township Magazine sets out each issue to perform to the same high standards of excellence. We know we’re on stage every time our magazine hits the streets. Our line up of features, the regular departments and our columns of knowledge are all planned, written and designed to give you, our audience, an experience that we hope proves both enlightening and entertaining. And we’d like to point out that we do all this as an independently-owned publication which receives absolutely not a cent in the form of tax remuneration. Our payment comes through local businesses seeing a value in our publication and taking out an advertisement.

As your magazine of preference, we can only hope it meets with your satisfaction. If we succeed, we know you’ll be back for another performance. If we fail, we know we have to try even harder. Every issue tests our dramatic creativity.

We enjoy hearing from you....please let us know what you think.
